Week 6 - Asset work and texturing


I have been working on more assets for the scene and the next asset I wanted to get done because I feel it would be the hardest and take the longest is the bus.


I finished modelling it and managed to finished the texture for it.




After looking back at this I realized that the texture is a bit basic and it needs dirt and a few changes to make it look much more realistic.


This is what I got once I finished with the changes and and adding the dirt.




As you can see a big difference after adding dirt and changing some of the bits on the bus to give it that realistic effect. Once I did this I then decided to do an AO map for it as this will give it much more depth and stand out more.




This is the bus with AO map applied to it, you can see the depth it brings to the model. 




When putting both maps against each other you can see how much the AO map changes on the model, adding in the shadows and giving it that much more realistic effect to the model. 



Here is the bus with the other half connected.


I decided to add an AO map to the poker table as well as I want to give it that extra depth and shadow.

Next asset I have been working on is the street dumpster.

I finished modelling and texturing the dumpster and still need to add an AO map to it.

As you can see the AO map adds a lot of shadow to where its needed and gives it more of a realistic effect.
